As part of our commitment to technological innovation and excellence, María Hospital, Pediatric Specialties, successfully implemented NephroFlow, a specialized platform for the comprehensive management of hemodialysis units, developed by NIPRO, a leading medical technology company headquartered in Belgium.
NephroFlow allows you to centralize clinical information for kidney patients, manage medical prescriptions, digitally record each hemodialysis session from start to finish, and integrate dialysis monitors and scales, thereby optimizing safety, data traceability, and clinical decision-making.
The implementation of this solution represents a major achievement for the country and the region. María Hospital has become the first hospital in Honduras and the first pediatric hospital in Latin America to implement NephroFlow for hemodialysis management, a milestone that NIPRO has recognized as a success story within its international network.
This result is the product of coordinated efforts among the Nephrology, Nursing, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, and administrative teams, who made it possible to successfully implement the system in just one month, ensuring continuity of care and the rapid adoption of the platform by clinical staff.
More than just a new technological tool, NephroFlow represents a significant step toward safer, more accurate, and more efficient care for children with kidney disease, reducing manual processes, strengthening clinical management, and allowing healthcare teams to devote more time to caring for their patients.
With this significant milestone, María Hospital reaffirms its leadership in innovation and digital transformation, establishing itself as a model for the modernization of specialized pediatric care in Honduras and the region.
