The 8th MaratHON Gatorade surpasses its goal and donates L 695,685.54 to Hospital Maria, Pediatric Specialties!

Tegucigalpa, October 23, 2023 – Hondurans once again make the 8th Gatorade MarathonHON a resounding success! Más de 2,200 corredores se reunieron desde temprano en la mañana del 15 de octubre para correr por una buena causa. The sports day organized by cbc Honduras, through its leading isotonic brand Gatorade, was held to support the Hospital María, Especialidades Pediátricas. The event raised a total of L 695,685.54, which was given to the hospital to help the children who are treated daily.

From the early hours of the morning, runners gathered at the José Simón Azcona Sports Complex, in the athletics stadium, to begin a day full of energy, solidarity and emotion. Participants competed in different categories, including distances of 5, 10, 21 and 42 kilometers, as well as a special category for senior citizens.

Cari Garcia, Gatorade brand coordinator, said: “We are very grateful for the generosity of each of the participants who joined us in this great cause, which undoubtedly would not have been possible without them. We would also like to thank all of our sponsors because thanks to them, the 8th Gatorade MarathonHON was a success. The donation given to Hospital Maria will allow us to provide specialized medical attention to the children who are treated in the hospital’s Cardiology ward. We ran with our hearts because our only goal is to help”.

In addition to the sports competition, special recognition was given to the winners in each category.
