As part of its ongoing commitment to the health of Honduran children, María Hospital, Pediatric Specialties continues to improve access to highly specialized medical services by organizing specialized medical and surgical teams in partnership with prestigious international institutions and organizations.
During the first half of 2026, the hospital organized medical teams specializing in cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology, otolaryngology, and orthopedics, performing more than 120 procedures—including surgeries, interventions, and specialized treatments—that have changed the lives of children from different regions of the country.
These significant results have been made possible thanks to the invaluable support of the Federico Gómez Children’s Hospital, the Coclear Foundation, World Pediatrics, Duke University, the Vida Nueva Foundation, and Surgeons of Hope—organizations that share the vision of bringing specialized, high-quality medical care to those who need it most.
In addition to the direct benefits for patients and their families, these teams provide a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, build the capacity of the hospital’s staff, and adopt best clinical practices that contribute to the ongoing development of pediatric care in Honduras.
Every procedure performed represents a new opportunity for a child to regain their health, improve their quality of life, and continue building a future with greater opportunities.
María Hospital, Pediatric Specialties expresses its deep gratitude to each of its partner institutions, donors, medical teams, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and collaborators who make these initiatives possible, reaffirming that working together remains a key driver in expanding access to specialized services and bringing hope to hundreds of Honduran families.
