Among its objectives, the HMEP considers the development and training of human resources in the area of Pediatrics and related careers, continually supporting the training of new professionals who will enrich the comprehensive care of pediatric patients, offering diagnoses and timely treatment, opening new opportunities. of care to the Honduran population, as well as contributing to continuing medical education and development of local research that provides us with better tools for care.
The Teaching and Research area has been integrated into the HMEP since its opening, and in 2017 it was created as a Unit within the structure and under the direction of Dr. Martha Matamoros who defined the guidelines and goals of the unit, which remain in force today.

Financial Aid Fund
- With more than ten years of supporting the training of Subspecialists in Pediatrics, who carry out their studies abroad since there are no study options for these areas at the national level.

We have managed to support more than 40 subspecialists who today are part of the HMEP family, or work in the national territory. Within the following specialties: Pathological Anatomy, Anesthesiology; Anesthesiology with orientation in cardianesthesia; Clinical Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Pediatric Intensive Care Intensive care with orientation in Pediatric Cardiointensive Care; Pediatric Echocardiography Technician; Cardiovascular Surgery; Hemodynamics and Perfusion; Pediatric Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Hemato-oncology; Immunology and Allergy; Infectology, Control of Infectious Diseases, Control of hospital infections, Nuclear Medicine; Neurology; Pneumology; Otorhinolaryngology; Pediatric Dentistry; Pediatrics, High Specialty in Pediatric Radiology.

Investigation
- Integration of a Research Bioethics Committee made up of a group of HMEP experts and renowned external collaborators, duly registered.

- Development of research by various specialists and inclusion of students in the research process.
